The Kyushu University EU Centre held the JMCoE-Q Extension Lecture Series 2025, titled “Europe - Its Fecundity and Reality”, over four sessions in July.

Recent visit by a Science Tokyo delegation led by President Naoto Ohtake and Professor Nobuhiro Hayashi, Vice President for International Strategy and Engagement and faculty member at the School of Life Science and Technology. 

This August, 23 students in engineering and other scientific fields arrived in Japan to begin their 8-month Vulcanus in Japan internship programme.

On 24 April 2025, the Jean Monnet CoE Kyushu, Third Stage (JMCoE-Q3) Kick-off Seminar titled “e-Governance and e-Democracy in the EU” was conducted by the Kyushu University EU Centre and supported by the Delegation of the European Union to Japan and the Fukuoka EU Association.

The 6th annual high-level conference Environmental Studies for Carbon Neutrality organised by Waseda University Brussels presented the state of play in policy developments and economic research on carbon pricing, CBAM, sustainable finance, and the role of research.

Kyushu University EU Centre conducted on 17-25 September 2024 the EU Study Tour 2024. This is the second tour within the framework of the Jean Monnet CoE Programme following the tour held in 2019.

The MIRAI digital Kickoff on September 4, 2024, gathered over 200 participants from member universities in Japan and Sweden, as well as attendants from external parties such as private companies and funding organizations. 

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and DWIH Tokyo are organizing the second virtual “German Research Fair”.

On Tuesday, 29 August 2023, the Kyushu University EU Centre hosted the Jean Monnet Symposium “The Making of European Citizenship: Past Achievements and New Developments.”, in collaboration with the Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI), Fundamental Research (C) "An Exploration of Contemporary Republican Theory of Education: With a Particular Focus Upon Citizenship Education" (19K02399, PI: Jiro Hasumi) and under the auspices of the Japan Association for Citizenship Education.
