(With English-Japanese Simultaneous Interpretation / Free event)
Needless to say, the importance of the Circular Economy and Resource Efficiency Principles (CEREP) is increasing and it was raised as one of the major topics at the G7 Climate, Energy and Environment Ministers' Meeting held this April. The concept of a circular economy is not limited to mere resource circulation, but is characterized by the expected effects of economic growth and job creation through drastic business model reforms throughout the value chain and supply chain.
The EU is developing these concepts with a strong link to the Green Deal and has launched a series of policies towards 2030 that will strengthen consumer and environmental protection while maintaining industrial competitiveness. At the same time, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has also announced the Strategy of Resource-Autonomous Circular Economy for Growth and proposed a package for its establishment.
In this seminar, the policy authorities and private companies in both Japan and the EU will talk about the path to progress in CEREP and discuss the possibility of cooperation between Japan and Europe.
