The EU-Japan EPA is binding the current regulatory practices and increasing legal certainty from WTO GATS level. It has an impact on transparency on domestic regulation and licensing procedures, independent regulators, and process for mutual recognition of qualification of professional. The EPA also increases the access to Japan Public Procurement for EU services providers. This opens up services markets, in particular on Financial services, Postal and express delivery, Professional services, Telecommunications, Distribution services, and Transport services.
