What regulatory preparation is required for electronics related products used in Japan?

As there is a unified CE marking scheme in place in Europe, there are also Japan unique marking schemes which are mandated by Japanese law. Specifically, radio law and electrical safety (PSE) are two major regulations which are applied to electronics and electronics related products used in Japan. In this webinar, you will understand what Japan accreditation bodies consist of. On top of that, you will comprehend two mandatory regulations - radio law and electrical safety (PSE) - with information on how you can judge whether or not your products are in the scope of these regulations.

The webinar is targeted to EU companies who aim at marketing any electronics related products to Japan market, as well as EU companies whose electronics products are possibly used in Japan.

Speakers: 

  • Ms. Takako Tomihari: TÜV SÜD Japan Ltd (Quality Management Representative, QM). After joining TÜV SÜD Japan in 2003, Ms. Tomihari has been the Quality Management Representative and the internal auditor. Ms. Tomihari is also an accreditation assessor for ISO/IEC 17025 (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories).
  • Mr. Kenichi Saito: TÜV SÜD Japan Ltd.(Business Development Manager, Consumer Product Service). Mr. Saito has been working in sales, marketing and business development for a variety of products and markets, mainly for foreign semiconductor companies. After joining TÜV SÜD Japan in 2021, Mr. Saito focuses on Japan Radio Law for overseas customers as well as cyber security related services for consumer IoT products.
  • Mr. Yuji Takizawa : TÜV SÜD Japan Ltd.(Safety Laboratory Manager, Safety Department). After joining TÜV SÜD Japan in 2003, Mr. Takizawa has been in charge of testing and certification of various electrical products at Yonezawa Testing Centre (Yamagata, Japan). Mr. Takizawa is also the committee member of Research Committee of PSE and the Liaison Conference of CAB of PSE.
