In recent years, Japan has established initiatives centred on the advancement of innovation in response to increasing global competition and the growth of emerging countries. Innovation is seen as the key to economic success in the country, given the scarcity of natural resources and its rapidly ageing population. A renewed focus on achieving this in both the private and public sectors makes Japan a promising place for European enterprises in the coming years.
